Always positive when actors team up with directors for a creative relationship. Scorsese/ de Niro
for example. Trust builds freedom which opens up possibilities of dope ness, long as the director/actor team have the talent. Best thing for Gugu is to form a life long creative relationship with Gina and Amma Asante.

Wasn't talking about the movie, was talking about Gugu Mbatha Raw's performance. She got lots of critical buzz for her performances in Belle and Beyond the Lights but got snubbed during awards season so it is not inconceivable that if she delivers a great performance in this movie she could finally get that awards season love she needs.Because Gina bythewood has a track record of making oscar nominated movies

Belle didn't have legit Oscar buzz, it was one of those "we have to say this was so moving" films that would never get real consideration. and beyond the lights? No one even saw that movie
She did a good job but nothing earth shattering (I.e. Nothing that was going to push her to another level). She still has plenty time to land "that role" but I doubt this will be that movie

And shyt no one sees results in actor awards nominations all the time. Aside from Jennifer Lawrence in Joy, I don't think any of the films that the other Best Actress nominees came from were seen by more than 25 people combined.

Lol how many light skinned chicks have won oscars? Only one Halle berry. The rest are dark skinned or at least not light. Not to underplay the role of colorism but you acting like light skinned chicks don't havevtheir own cross to bear with regards to racism.

As for all that shyt in your other post....none of it has to do with the fact that the coli picks light skin chicks they love and frets about "how come they're not bigger". Could care less about oscars. Just happy for both of them to be doing work that's not stereotypical. Looked like she was going the sidekick role route but it's been corrected.
