The body of a man found washed in by the ocean in Brooklyn on May 2, has been identified by New York City police as a high ranking member of rapper Bobby Shmurda's affiliate G Stone Crips. Peter Martinez was discovered to be the victim of an apparent mob style hit, when his corpse was found wrapped up in a plastic bag on the shoreline of Manhattan Beach, Monday. His face had been duck taped, arms bound behind his back, and feet anchored by 100 pound buckets of cement.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce declared the Kingsborough Community College vicinity the scene of an "obvious homicide," and stated that an investigation is ongoing. What authorities have shared is that the 28-year old Martinez, whose girlfriend is expecting their child, had gone missing for three weeks leading up to the confirmation of his murder. Sources have tipped them off that the case may be related to unpaid debts. So far there have been no arrests.

Police were able to identify the body thanks to a tattoo of the Virgin Mary on Martinez's back and an 8-ball on his arm. The dumping of murder victims, who've been prepared to sink by the weight of concrete, into the sea, has been the story of gangster legend ever since Ernest 'the Hawk' Rupolo was found by similar means in Jamaica Bay, Queens in 1964. Forensics would conclude that the job on Martinez was botched, investigators believe, by indication of the fact that he had floated to the surface; leading them to assume that his feet were placed into the bucket before the cement was poured, causing air to get in.

I think we all know by now that these aren't studio gangsters so this isn't necessarily surprising :manny:

At least his loved ones get some closure now
