A poll of American divorce lawyers showed that 61 percent have seen an increase in the number of “grey” divorces among people over 50 in the United States.

Nearly a quarter of grey divorces were initiated by wives, compared to 14 percent by husbands.

doesnt make any sense. at that age it should sink in you are about to die soon not just that but probably get very sick for many years and then die. worst possible time frame to try to be alone and live that singles life

My uncle got divorced last year at 49 after like 20+ years. Dude seems pretty happy to me.

Yea I read this a few day ago...My parents were together about 23 years (married for 10) before they broke up when I was 16 (I'm 25 now)..they're still just seperated tho, idk why its taking them so long to finalize it

I think this is probably because women and men are seeing that there is more to life, even in your 40s-50s...you don't have to stay with someone you're not that into anymore, and you can have a "second chapter"..you can still be happy and possibly find love again....

love is not about being happy its about sharing tragedy though. the real test is when you are 40, 50, 60 years old etc just how much you understand this because life gets harder never easier. getting divorces at an old age is a sign that you still dont understand that
