that is another whole thread about games being fixed breh.
that is deflection.

nobody ever figured out how to really beat jojn Thompson systematically. so, they phased out the pedigree of the real center and it's skill set.

:mjlol: Thompson retired in '99, the real center was still thriving in college ball at that time

who is this great skilled American center who was in college other than Duncan then.

plus Duncan is a pf by pedigree and on paper.
so who is this highly skilled center since 99 from a college pedigree?

I thought Bryant Reeves was pretty dominant at that time. Also there was Joe Smith, Eric Montross, Vin Baker, Elton Brand, Lorenzen Wright, Marcus Camby (although not as skilled but still explosive) etc..There was talent at the center position in college basketball from the mid to late 90s when Thompson retired...

This is thread is wild disrespectful to Nolan Richardson and I’m not saying that because Mike Anderson is our coach but Nolan Richardson style of basketball is still being used 40 years after he implemented it for a reason. Shaka Smart “Havoc” defense is just Nolan Richardson defense with more diamond cut presses. Bob Huggins from West Virginia uses the same high level press and it has gotten him far.

I respect what John Thompson did for black men by giving them a chance to attend a prestigious university and becoming a father figure but Nolan did that as well and his on court style still has use.

Bruh... All those names you mentioned minus Brand was in the league by 99. And Elton played center by necessity for Duke because he was PF in the NBA.

Mods please lock this thread because I don’t like downing a legendary Black man to prop up another legendary Black man. :camby:

Which is why I mentioned mid to late 90's..And me personally im not downing Thompson at all just saying when stacking him up against someone like Nolan there isnt really much difference if your just focusing on the game itself

Crispness
tark and unlv systematically destroyed and revealed/exposed forty minutes of hell back then.
nobody effectively can use it anymore to be real.
if they dug in the crate. Yet these people don't dig in the crate.

so there you go.

Nah...they still using derivatives of 40 Minutes of Hell today, because it’s still more like for coaches to start 3 guards and/or have undersized players.

Whereas, you aren’t gonna get a team like Tark’s UNLV team everyday to beat that.
