Yea Id have to say Nolan as well..And add in the fact Nolan did more at Arkansas with less top tier high school talent than John Thompson...You give Nolan the type of talent like Allen Iverson and im certain he wins another 2 chips. ...I also agree Nolan's style is still visible todayDamn...
...my first impression is to say Nolan, because he still has disciples outchea coaching today.
But I'm biased. My Mama's side of the family is from Arkansas, so I started getting into college B-Ball
during the Hogs era.
John Thompson is probably more recognized and respected, but his brand of ball is virtually extinct.
Type of talent? Todd Day Lee Mayberry Oliver Miller and Corliss Williamson all played in the NBA and overseas so that ain't it. John Thompson's impact on the game is far greaterYea Id have to say Nolan as well..And add in the fact Nolan did more at Arkansas with less top tier high school talent than John Thompson...You give Nolan the type of talent like Allen Iverson and im certain he wins another 2 chips. ...I also agree Nolan's style is still visible today
Only one on that list worth mentioning is Corliss Williamson and he amounted to nothing more than a journey man...Shall I go down the list of all the hall of famers John Thompson was able to recruit?Type of talent? Nolan's "40 minutes of hell" is still visible in college basketball today...Leonard Hamilton ran it at FSU this year and probably would of made the final 4 this year...What concepts of John Thompson is visible today in college basketball?John thompson
Cmon now
I dont think many people on this board even know about Nolan Richardson:John is more iconic and has more fond memories because his teams were more highly acclaimed, but 40 Minutes Of Hell still shows up every March in the tourney. Nolan impact is still present.
Based on what?John Thompson.. its not even close
