I meant to make this a few weeks ago after I saw Mockingjay 2, because that tunnel/sewer scene is insanely good. Damn near the only good thing in the film.

Another one....from a truly horrendous movie, was the body-horror esque transformation scene in Fantastic 4. It's what makes me think Trank would've made a competent and interesting film if left to his own devices.

I'll take those two and add another scene from Mockingjay with them going through the capital. right before they had to run into the building and everything went to shyt

the scene from joy when she's in front of the cameras on QVC selling the product herself and she has that moment of getting it and everything starts to click

The death scene of the father in Crimson Peak. Gully af and one of the few scenes in the movie that had energy

I just saw this....and that scene spurred this thread. Though by the end of the movie, it was well past mediocre in my mind.

:myman: very dope scene...the rest of the movie had nothing else like it though. it had a rhythm and momentum and purpose and it came alive and then after that it just went away. it was almost like thats the point the movie should've built to rather than all the other stuff about her getting screwed over which just wasn't interesting

HAHAHAH, I just saw that Joy was a comedy according the Globes. Much dumber than The Martian's categorization.

Glad she won though. Might be her best performance....tons of range.

For my free screening i was in the third row because VIP took up the rest of the damn theater.

My eyes were still adjusting during the opening battle :francis:

i loved the initial scene in Tomorrowland and the house scene... that was pretty much it. not a terrible movie, but very forgettable

Agreed. The house scene was cleverly designed and very well shot. It's worth seeing the movie for that alone imo.

I think funny enough "Boiler Room" is at best a mediocre film but a collection of great scenes is what makes me enjoy it multiple times. These 3 in particular.

You know there are actually a TON of mediocre movies that I LOVE because of specifically strong scenes

Finding Forrester is, by Gus Van Sant standards, considered a "mediocre" film, but I LOVE the story and especially the scene where Jamal goes toe to toe with that Cac professor and gets the best of him. That was the PERFECT cinematic example of a black man TAKING NO LOSSES.:salute:

Also the climatic scene where Sean Connery is reading the essay and reveals that it's Jamal's work:wow:

The ending scene in Belly where the Muslim reverend is breaking it all down to Tommy Bunz.

In Drumline when Devon and Sean finally have their face-off and Sean admits that Decon is better but that it means nothing without the line, and the bulb FINALLY goes on in his head.

The scene in Wild Wild West when Jim West and Loveless are going at each other about being black vs being crippled:russ:
