I have been hooked on The Walking Dead Compendium.

Vol 4 comes in tomorrow and I can't wait.

I've never watched the television show and I don't plan on it because I feel like I'll see things that were done differently and turn into one of those "the book was better" snobs.

You guys got any suggestions for graphic novels I should check out?

It doesn't have to be post-apocalyptic either.

Do these novels show the darker side of comic books?

As someone who didn't grow up reading them and was only familiar with them through animated shows I had no idea they were so dark until I saw random panels.

I'd love if these y'all are suggesting get into the darker side of the story.

Can anyone recommend any free pdf sites? I know about readcomicsonline already, which is how I read the walking dead. Works great, but I always like having alternatives.

Many of the earlier graphic novels do b/c that format didn't have to follow the Comics Code Authority.
