NFL appeals panel re-issues "bounty-gate" suspensions - WGNO
An NFL panel has decided to re-issue the suspensions that were originally used to punish current and former Saints players in the "bounty-gate" investigation.
According to the ruling, handed down Tuesday afternoon, New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma will sit out for the entire 2012 season, Saints defensive end Will Smith for four games, Cleveland Browns linebacker Scott Fujita for three games, and free-agent defensive end Anthony Hargrove for eight games.
According to NBC Sports, the league will issue an explanation soon. "Asked for confirmation that the same discipline has been meted out, the league said, 'Its not that simple.' As to specific question as to whether the penalties will be the same, the NFL said, 'Not all.' "
