Watch this movie if you can get through it. As bad as it is, this is about the truest vision through a 'white man's eyes' I've ever seen on Slavery.

This is what they thought about us, this is how they treated us, this is what was done to us. Its not a laughing matter. I like Django but I will always respect Spike Lee & he does have a point.

And to lend to the debate, here's a link to Ebert's review, which offers some critical arguments about the actual production of the film. Farewell Uncle Tom :: rogerebert.com :: Reviews

While the making of the film is disgusting, Ebert made sure he stayed clear of how evil slavery was & exploitative his ancestors were. The sad thing about it is that his ancestors were actually worse than the guys that made the film. Atleast they 'faked it'. The real deal went down back in the day, probably just like that.

Word. Regardless, Ebert's point about the exploitative qualities of the film itself is well taken, though. :manny: We can agree that this is something to look forward to: Twelve Years a Slave (2013) - IMDb.

Great a retreading of slavery films. They're seeing the psyche of black people increasing because of Obamas election and success so they are now trying to remind us that we are and or were once slaves, their slaves. The psychology is hilarious and obviously comes form a position of weakness, mentally.

son this doesn't weaken me. It only makes me stronger knowing they couldn't kill ME, no matter how hard they've tried.

I put this vid up because people are clowning Django because 'it ain't real' well this movie is about as real as gets & I don't want to see anymore films like this. Spike Lee is correct about the issue of slavery being exploitative to some degree but any movie done on this subject falls in that category IMO.
