Can't make this distinction. LIG might be more consistent, but the highlights on GS are better.
Thats a harrrdddddd one man. I've always placed either Gods Son or Streets Disciple in the criminally underrated category. There was a period of time when I felt GS was the album that deserved 5 Mics over Stillmatic as his second official classic. Gods Son has some of the strongest, most intimately personal tracks that Nas has ever spit. Think about Book Of Rhymes, Warrior Song, Revolutionary Warfare, Last Real nikka Alive, Thugz Mansion, Dance and Heaven. Those songs are almost undeniably classic just from the ferocity, the pain, the longing, and the passion that he spits with. Gods Son is truly what can be considered a work from the heart.
Life Is Good is kind of a slicker version of Gods Son. It's what you'd get if you put It Was Written/I Am Escobar lyrical fierceness with Gods Son maturity and wisdom. The personal anecdotes are there, their just wrapped in Nas's superb talent of storytelling. No Introduction, Daughters, Stay, and Queen's Story are VERY personal tracks that make me say "Damn Nas just spit FIRE" more than they make me go
man dude just bared his soul like Dance and Heaven had me. Bye Baby and Roses came the closest to giving that feeling.
Life Is Good is just more a feel good album to me, I can listen to it anytime, anyplace and just feel good about Hip Hop. Gods Son past Made You Look I kind of have to be in a certain mood for which isn't a bad thing it's just not an everyday type of album

everything about it is better. and for people who bring up summer on smash, lets not act like zone out and i can weren't on god's son. the bonus tracks are better too.

Gods Son is my third favorite Nas album after Illmatic and It was Written.
Gods Son has tracks just as good as Life is Good, but the difference is, I can listen to them any mood I'm in. The replay value on tracks like Get Down, Last Real nikka Alive, Heaven, Made You Look etc. is immaculate.
With Gods Son, even though he didn't have the intention of making a really emotional and deep album, it still ends up as a more real presentation than Life is Good which he made with the goal of a deep album.

I'm going with God's Son mainly because of subject matters
I'm really shocked that people prefer God's Son over Life Is Good. God's Son was always a disappointing album to me. I guess I wanted the whole album to have the agression of Made You Look, and when that didn't happen it disappointed me. It's not a bad album to me, but it lacks cohesiveness, it's too all over the place.
Life Is Good to me is damn near a classic, pretty much XXL and 5 mic material.

This ain't an arguement b, this a discussion. We all Nas fans here. No one is saying Life is Good was shyt. And you treating it as we talking about something like I Am being better than Life is good.
So back to the discussion, tell me any songs on LIG that goes hard as Made you Look? Tell me a song from LIG as chill as Heaven? Tell me a song from LIG that lets you ride with as much as Book of Rhymes? Tell me a song that's as uplifting as I Can? Tell me me a song thats as emotional as Dance?
Gods Son is much more diverse, hits harder, more replabable and simply better.
It ain't been a month since LIG came out, give it at least a few months and see whether it still has the same affect. Gods Son has stood the test of time.
