"The arrest of Sherra Wright-Robinson came after the Dec. 5 indictment of Billy R. Turner in the former basketball player's death. Turner was a deacon at Mt. Olive No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church in Collierville, where Wright's ex-wife was a former member."

The body of Wright, 34, was found badly decomposed in southeast Memphis in July 2010, and investigators found evidence of shell casings from different calibers at the scene. He apparently called 911 shortly after midnight on July 19, 2010, from a field near TPC Southwind golf course. At least five gunshot wounds were documented in an autopsy.

“Thank you Jesus! Thank you Jesus! They got her! They got her!’’ Lorenzen Wright’s mother, Deborah Marion, told a reporter shortly before midnight. “They need to bury her.’’....

Marion said she believes her former daughter-in-law was motivated by money, specifically a $1 million life insurance policy held by Lorenzen Wright

Look at this shyt

In all, Sherra Wright received a little more than $1 million in life insurance proceeds 14 months after Lorenzen Wright’s still-unsolved 2010 murder. By last September — ten months later — she’d spent $973,000.

Records show Sherra Wright directed much of her spending at her children — a 5,300 square-foot-home acquired last June in east Shelby County is titled in the name of a trust for her four sons and two daughters, for example — yet Herb Wright, Lorenzen’s father, believes Sherra is not making sound choices and is not acting in his grandchildrens’ best interest.

Her spending was brisk and prodigious — $32,000 for a Cadillac Escalade; $26,000 for a Lexus; $69,000 on an assortment of furniture; $11,750 for a trip to New York; $339,000 to buy and improve a new house; $7,100 for a deposit on a swimming pool; $5,000 for lawn equipment; $277 for dinner and a movie; $34,000 on lawyers.

All within 10 months.

Our queens y'all.
Murdering their own men and destroying their own families for designer handbags and Cadillac trucks.

I refuse to allow you to use this as an opportunity to label all Black women with this one greedy bytches actions.

I know it's innocent until proven guilty but Ren was a community hero who had no true enemies but the ex wife. She took a great father from her kids and a positive influence from the Black world.

May he Rest In Peace

It's wrong either way but since when is that not a lot of money?
You have to excuse some of these morons when online. Dudes who most times whole damn immediate family ain't touched a mill in a year say that's nothing. Yeah it's nothing to some successful business person or athlete/entertainer but the average person please.
