Honestly I am bored and want to make something with either Game Maker studio, RPG Maker or something simple with Unity or Unreal.

What do you got?

Time travel game, where you have a device that alters the time between 15 year jumps back and forth. You use the mechanic to solve crimes, investigate, question witnesses that effect certain character motivations and influence the way they interact with you in the future to get hints on how to solve mysteries in the past.

Ex. An old man has dementia, you can’t get the information you want out of him so you turn back the time 15 years, but the crime hasn’t happened yet so you can inspire him to keep a journal or some kind of recording around. Then you jump back into the future and look break into his apartment and look for the journal. You would typically have to do another mini-quest to convince him to do this first.

There’s also “time pirates” people who loot information from the past to use in the future, like lotto numbers, safe locations, stocks, other buried treasure. These are people you run into as a detective that cause interference into your primary objective. You can use “mini-events” which are time altering abilities to fight them.
