Gimmicks that you think other wrestlers would've got over (or even more over)

This morning, the Glorious Bobby Roode theme song popped in my head, and I immediately thought "man... Roode really was the man in nxt...it's a shame it didn't work on the big show."

I think it's because the gimmick and theme was hugely over in nxt but on raw or sd you need a big personality...not just theme.

LA Knight would be even bigger than he is NOW as Glorious Eli Drake or Glorious LA Knight. Cause that song is truly one of the best themes in history, and the look with the baller ass robes was fire.

Who else do you think could use a gimmick swap and get that gimmick over even more? Specifically...great gimmick...but not carried well enough by the guy. (And, do you agree?)

Johnny Gargano could make the Dink gimmick work even more because not only would he be convincing in the role but he'd be able to have better matches than the original Dink

I thought Gangrel could have pulled off the Mordecai gimmick. Could have made the gimmick switch make sense too.
The only person who took this for real :heh:

Agreed

I think Stevie Ray would've been a great member of Nation of dominantion, way better than Ahmed...he could've been a real rival to Farooq

On the flip side of things, I don't think many people could have gotten a wrestling Mortician gimmick over in the "everyone has a day job" era. That whole era didn’t do anyone favors, hard to get over as a wrestling garbage man or racecar driver. Nash is lucky they dropped the truck driver parts of the Diesel gimmick, or he'd have had the same problem.

How far could a guy like Duke Derosie have gone without a garbage man gimmick? Brian Adams was a fukking badass in the ring, but Adam Bomb definitely did him no favors. The only guys to make it out that era are ones who lasted long enough to get gimmick changes once the attitude era started popping. The roadie, Bob "sparky" Plug, Billy from the smokin Gunns, The Sultan, Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw, Farooq Asad, Blueblood HHH, they all survived long enough. Would "The Dumpster" or Adam Bomb have had success too if they'd still been in the company at that point?
