I have a minor Boston accent I do my best to not talk like nowadays. I try to talk like someone from California. I Started about a year ago for me i started to despise and hate the way it sounded. I can assure you its not as bad as movies make it out to be but there are guys and girls out there that do sound like that and i think some of them put the accent on heavier than it should be. Standing back and hearing the accent makes me realize how everyone else says it sucks.....it does. i hope i dont sound stupid i think i sound better i was talking to someone from another state the other day and they said i dont sound like im from here

so has anyone from anywhere with a certain accent changed the way they talked and developed a new speech?

no i dont sound like that at all and never have. that person does not have to talk like that. i know being from Boston around the accent all my life that people who pronounce it that hard are without a doubt adding to the accent. the funny thing is people who talk like that usually dont even live in city limits
