George Zimmerman Can't Be A Racist Because His Great-Grandfather Was Black - Lawyer

Despite saying it was a mistake for his client to give a nationally televised interview, George Zimmerman's lawyer spoke in-depth to the Orlando Sentinel about the case, Zimmerman's life, and how the media has blown everything out of proportion.

Mark O'Mara sat down with the Sentinel's Hal Boedeker last week to fight back against claims Zimmerman killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin because the teenager was black.

"George is living in a prison caused by the fact that people think he's a racist murderer," O'Mara said. "When nothing supports the conclusion that he's a racist. The FBI tried its hardest to come back with evidence of racism. They came back with nothing."

To prove his point, O'Mara pointed out that Zimmerman's great-grandfather is black, so Zimmerman has to be "a non-racist."

"This case has gotten skewed way off the base of what that I think it should be on because people are not listening to and seeing facts," O'Mara said.

O'Mara also touched on what most people agree was a disastrous interview Zimmerman gave to Fox News' Sean Hannity.

During the July interview, Zimmerman set off a media firestorm when he said it "was all God's plan" that Martin was shot.

O'Mara admitted to the Sentinel it wasn't a good move for Zimmerman to do the interview, adding that Zimmerman viewed Hannity as "his savior" because Hannity urged viewers not to villainize the former neighborhood watchman.

I wonder if he would consider Farrakhan a racist. He has a white parent, so by his logic, he can't hate white people. In fact, most black people in America have enough white blood that it equals having at least on white grandparent. I guess that means black people can't be racist against white people. That includes most of those New Black Panthers that he's afraid of.
