He backed off that statement a little bit in a new interview. He said he would be down to make one more. But wants to make a smaller movie in between. I think he'll do one more and then pass the franchise off to a younger director.

Yeah, it's not as if it lit a gigantic bonfire of 80s revival throughout every form of media. Except it did of course, and is one of the quintessential movies of this decade.

they fought a lot and got into all the damn time on set cause it was basically a desert and them in a car..... every day... for 8 hours.. for 4-6 months
