Hell recently they had a day where they used renewables to power their whole grid I think

Former Director of Anti-Immigration Group Set to Be Named Ombudsman at U.S. Immigration Agency
As FAIR official, Julie Kirchner advocated harsh restrictions on immigrants. Now her job is to provide them assistance.

A former director of an anti-immigration group, Julie Kirchner, is expected to be named as ombudsman to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on Monday, according to a person with knowledge of the pending appointment.

Kirchner was from 2005 to 2015 director of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, a group that has advocated for extreme restrictions on immigration.

The ombudsman’s office at USCIS provides assistance to immigrants who run into trouble with the agency, such as immigration applications that take too long to process or applications that may have been improperly rejected. The ombudsman also prepares an annual report for Congress in which they can issue audits and policy recommendations without consulting with USCIS in advance.

As the nation’s immigration agency, USCIS handles a wide range of legal immigration matters, including applications for citizenship and green cards. The agency can also grant legal status to those in extreme circumstances, such as refugees and asylum seekers. In addition, the agency is in charge of adjudicating applications from undocumented immigrants who were brought to the country illegally as children, sometimes referred to as “dreamers” or DACA recipients.

Century Properties Group Inc. of Manila, the company behind the $150 million tower that’s set to open next year, paid as much as $5 million to use the Trump name, in a licensing agreement that’s common for the president-elect. Trump has at least 10 similar licensing deals around the world, each of which might complicate his administration’s international diplomacy, according to ethics specialists.

But in Manila, there’s an extra connection: Century Properties’ chief executive and controlling stakeholder, Jose E.B. Antonio, was appointed last month to serve as a special government envoy to the U.S. for Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, who has vowed to expel American troops from his country and ranted against President Barack Obama. Antonio says he sees no conflict between his public role and private partnership.

Trump will nominate the following individuals to become judges for the United States Circuit Courts of Appeals:

  • Justice Joan L. Larsen of the Michigan Supreme Court will be nominated for the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals based in Cincinnati. Larsen is a former law clerk of the late Justice Antonin Scalia, a former legal adviser of President George W. Bush, a professor at University of Michigan Law School, and a graduate of Northwestern University Law School.
  • Justice David R. Stras of the Minnesota Supreme Court will be nominated to the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals based in St. Louis. Stras clerked for Justice Clarence Thomas as well as Judge Melvin Brunetti of the Ninth Circuit and Michael Luttig of the Fourth Circuit. He graduated from the University of Kansas Law School.
  • Amy Coney Barrett, a Professor of Law at the University of Notre Dame who clerked for the late Justice Antonin Scalia, will be nominated to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago. She also graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
  • John K. Bash, a partner at the Bingham, Greenbaum, and Doll law firm in Louisville, Kentucky, will be nominated along with Justice Larsen for the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals based in Cincinnati. He formerly clerked for J. Smith Henley of the Ninth Circuit. He graduated from Harvard Law School.
  • Kevin C. Newsom, a former Supreme Court clerk for Justice David Souter, a law clerk for Judge Diarmuid O'Scannlain of the Ninth Circuit, and Alabama's former Solicitor General, will be nominated for the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta. He graduated from from Harvard Law School.
Trump will also name the following individuals to fill U.S. District Court vacancies:

  • Dabney L. Friedrich, a former member of the United States Sentencing Commission, will be nominated for the Federal District Court for the District of Columbia.
  • Terry Fitzgerald Moorer, a Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama in Montgomery, will be nominated as a District Judge in the same district.
  • David C. Nye will be nominated to the United States District Court for Idaho.
  • Scott L. Palk, the Assistant Dean of Students at the University of Oklahoma Law School and former Assistant United States Attorney, will be nominated for the United States District Court for Oklahoma in Oklahoma City.
Trump will also nominate Damien M. Schiff, a Senior Attorney at the Pacific Legal Foundation and a former law clerk for Judge Victor J. Wolski of the United States Court of Federal Claims, for the same U.S. court.
