I was just a kid when this played out and remember VH1 roasting it as a flop... But shyt is lowkey smooth :mindblown:

In hindsight the whole thing was wild: Top country artist creates an alter ego and busts out some falsetto soft rock

My 4th grade teacher had a segment every week that highlighted an artist and this one was of them that i remember the most because of that backstory. ABBA was another one just because they were crazy overrated imo

Stop redefining history. That shyt was laughable in 1999 and still laughable today. The album cover itself was a huge WTF. Im sure trent reznor was pissed off when he saw that shyt like is this dude mocking me.

Trent and Dave Navarro.

When you sell a ton of records the label is :hubie: because maybe they can make more money off of whatever shīt you cook up.

Holy shyt.
I've never heard a Chris Gaines song. I knew about it but, wow.

That's a whole other world of music.

If Babyface had put his touch on this, this prolly would have been a big hit for that time period with a different artist. Whoever wrote and produced this was definitely inspired by Face.
The same producer that co produced “change the world” by Eric Clapton and baby face produced the record.
