in terms of characterization

this isn't asking what show you like more, or what show is better

but what show has more complexity to it?

:childplease: wire breh. Not just on characterization of its characters but of the society itself. Baltimore and all of its institutions represent a lot of places in the country then and now. The fact that everyone on the show was three dimensional and ultimately represented the best and worst of the American dream says a lot about the writing and intellect of that show

The Wire is a bit more relatable, and relevant at the very least

I suppose you could make an argument for GoT being "deeper" with the houses and bloodlines, but meh....awesome show nonetheless

The Wire is more of a critique of actual North American society (law enforcement, management, politricks, school system, the hood, hustling, working class folk, the media etc etc etc)

:childplease: GoT & it's NOT close. You can understand everything on "The Wire" if you give every episode your 100% FULL UNDIVIDED ATTENTION.

You can't say that about GoT. You gonna need help from having read the books, read info & backstory on the wiki site for the books, Youtube, or etc.

it just ust means GoT isn't that good of a tv show that you need to get more info from other sources

Nope, it's a great show regardless. But needing help from other sources to understand everything that is going on is definitely a flaw.

GOT does the exact same thing only in a fantasy setting.
