I never need to see another full-CGI 'vibe' trailer about a game again.
Not ever again.

I don't even need the lore-teasing extendo-glimpse FromSoft be doing. I don't need the 'Mad World' theme. I don't need slow pans and flashy flavor text introducing new characters. No game has ever lied to me as much as Ubisoft hype videos. They aren't even done in inventive ways like Devolver does them, either. Just people calling up Blur or any other number of animation studios with a character model on a USB and a dream.

They can start doing them again when the games actually look like the hype videos, as far as I'm concerned, but... nah. They can keep these overproduced trailers designed to get played more than the acceptance speeches at the VGAs and just use that money to do some goddamned QA, since no one does that anymore.

I'm just so tired of being sold these dreams bruh :mjcry:

Look. I love Studio Blur :whoa: STOP GIVING THEM nikkaS MONEY.

Or... or give them more money and tell them to nut up and make a game. All them CGI cutscene gods.
Square Enix need to start callin these folk out. At least they had the balls to almost bankrupt themselves by making their top-end CGI cutscenes into full movies and then eventually mostly-full games. Rest of these folk just want to throw a full-render trailer out for a farming sim and fake the funk :beli:

First i’ll say OP is wrong in implying cgi has “gotten out of hand” as of late cause, really the shyt used to be way worse.

In the past public media about a certain game had very little obligation to actually reflect the finished game.

In todays world people are holding devs more accountable and i think most of the cgi trailers do a pretty good job conveying what the game will actually be.

With that said, i agree with the premise of the thread. I’ve seen enough games to know what i’m gonna want to play, Just show me a bit of gameplay so i can know what i’m getting into, then i will make my decision :ehh:

R* charging a higher price than market standard for GTA6 is actually a good idea. Quite genius actually. I think they will actually sell more units by doing so. That $100 price tag says you're getting a premium product of the highest sophistication, not just some rinky dink sandbox game.

Edit: I thought this said "Game Marketing Hot Take'S'". I was just putting my 2¢ in
