I used to get called African in elementary school because I’m dark skinned.. it was supposed to be a way of making fun of me... calling me African was the punchline... how crazy is that

That's pretty deep . I also don't like the spear but maybe that's because we were taught to be ashamed of things like that. Africans got swords to so they could change it but should they? That's up for debate

And for that reason, I would not embrace my own history, my own roots. But now, it feels good to be who I am. I love it."
