The Fugees Fugees are working on a new album, we hear.FilmMagic
Ready or not, here they come again.
A source tells Page Six that the beloved group Fugees are working on a new album.
Wyclef Jean previously teased back in November that the reunited group could possibly do something, telling TMZ, “Anything can happen.”
It will be the group’s first album in decades after they split in 1997.

The move comes on the heels of the legendary group announcing they’re going on tour as part of Lauryn Hill’s extended 25th anniversary of her 1998 album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.”

The new 21-date tour starts in August in Florida, and will head to Europe in October.
The group, made up of Hill, Jean and Pras Michel, were originally supposed to go on tour in 2021 for the anniversary of their 1996 album “The Score,” but had to cancel due to coronavirus.
They were then scheduled to tour last year — but Hill had to cancel dates in November due to vocal strain.

The group previously reunited on stage in June 2023 at the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia.
In September 2023, they appeared together at the Global Citizen’s Festival in Central Park, and in November they played the Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif., in November.
Hill played a Soho House 20th anniversary event in NYC in September during New York Fashion Week.
Fugees member Wyclef has been busy recently: He did a surprise set at Mr. Melo in Brooklyn this month before being spotted during Cannes Lions at Unik Ernest’s Culturin After Party Series in France.
Next up, he’s headed to the Hamptons for his 4th year headlining Calissa Sounds on August 1st.

Fugees! Fugees want to diss now too, huh? :pachaha:

This would go triple plastic
I mean their classic second album was supposed to be a bomb too after the disastrous first.

People love fronting in the fugees but they can make music. All of em. Even wack ass Pras had a solo hit bigger than most rappers past and present.

And everyone goes plastic today regardless. If they make a good album it will play for a long time regardless. Finally they are trying to line up Pras before he goes on a possible long vacation.

:dahell: Why is he getting locked up?

Grammy-winning musician Pras Michel has been convicted in a federal court in Washington, D.C., on 10 counts related to charges that include conspiracy, witness tampering and failing to register as an agent of China.

It was a case that spanned actions on two continents and multiple countries, a star studded witness list, foreign intrigue and both domestic and international influence peddling.

Ultimately, Michel was convicted of conspiracy, concealment of material facts, making false entries in records, witness tampering, and serving as an unregistered agent of a foreign power. He faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set.

Michel faced charges stemming from his relationship to Jho Low, a Malaysian billionaire accused of stealing $4 billion from a Malaysian sovereign wealth fund.

Back in 2012, prosecutors said Michel used Low's illegal foreign money to buy seats for people at fundraisers for then-President Barack Obama.

Years later, after the FBI started investigating Low for stealing money, Low wanted Michel and others to help him convince the Trump White House to go easy on Low.

One part of that alleged scheme was to try to get Trump to send a dissident living in the U.S. back to China to curry favor with the Chinese government.

Prosecutors said Michel collected about $100 million from Low to try to influence two U.S. presidential administrations.

Been hearing about them doing a new album since the late 90s. I'll believe it when I see it. Last year there was all this talk of Andre 3000 finally giving us a solo and we got trolled. Wake me when there are pre orders.
