I remember the local media making a big deal out of Willie not signing a QB out of high school and downplaying his transfer QB, Travis. Not they're awfully quiet about the high school QBs they bragged about Norvell getting after realizing Norvell would be winless at FSU in 2 years without.....Willie's transfer QB. Happy for the kid.
Let's be honest, Travis isn't that good himself. You're beating low level/middling teams w/ him as your starter but upper echelon squads, nah. Good for him for making the most of his opportunity but this program is damn near a decade into not having a starting QB I'd label "standard FSU quality starting QB". But yea, they Cuban b'ing that Purdy transfer and Rodemaker being a dud (which I called from the jump).
The bigger question for the local media is why aren't they making a bigger deal out of some of these assistants that's on staff. IDC what anyone believes, Dilly is a trash play caller. Damn near K. Briles level of trash. Papuchis shouldn't be a special teams coach at all. What does Thomsen do? His position has underachieved like shyt. Cam McDonald should've been getting Pitts type love but he's damn near invisible out there. Woodson's DBs stay getting torched. Haggins should've been given his walking papers. I keep hearing rebuild. They need to tear it down bare bones and re-establish the foundation.
