But I say all that to say what I said back in 20. FSU has an institutional problem. Got a few folks who want to run it like a big time program but penny pinching. They’re not willing to go all in and run things like Bowden still there. That’s my issue. Maybe I’m just an absolutist :manny:

You BEEN saying this even when Tagg was first hired that FSU was becoming unserious about really going ALL IN on football. Same shyt been plaguing UF in the same time span too.

If the admin only cares about making money 1st and foremost, they’re going to accept it and be ok with 6-9 win seasons.

Name/logo/tradition alone not gonna cut it anymore at UF and FSU

@klutch2381 the standard is the standard correct? All I’m saying is the same things that were considered unbecoming of an FSU HC (looking flustered and confused in the sidelines, unwilling to get rid of your coaching buddies which was also held against Jimbo too, sticking with a QB when he should’ve been benched, etc) are all being like it’s nothing when it was an unforgivable sin prior. I could care less about Taggs being fired. Near the end I said he wouldn’t be long for Tallahassee. It was the manner and the way they went about it (he didn’t sign the contract, he was smoking weed on recruiting trips). It’s playing out the same way. I listened to a few pods since Saturday to get the pulse of the fan base and they all calling for Atkins, YAC, Surtain, Shannon gone (surprise) with Thomson being the only “not like us” out the bunch. I’m still trying to figure out why Odell gets a pass. But I say all that to say what I said back in 20. FSU has an institutional problem. I will say this, I was actually dreaming about this last night (No Diddy): FSU fans are in a precarious position moving forward. For a long ass time, FSU has been run like a mom and pop store: very little monetary investment required to be a season ticket holder, minimal booster obligations, etc. The barrier to entry to be a FSU “fan” is incredibly low, so there’s no real distinction between FSU fans (people who like FSU, watch the games, might even have season tickets because they were cheap, but don’t actually invest in the program beyond that) and FSU fanatics (boosters contributors, TBE contributors, season tickets holders, traveling to Ireland, etc.). I mean, FSU has 400k living alums and 14k boosters.

I’ve seen so many people complaining about having to pay more for their tickets, having to make a capital investment now, etc. Yet, the same people want a new staff, want to compete yearly with UGA/Alabama for the top recruiting class in a sport that is now basically pay for play, and so on. Our fans, in general, are not even as fanatical as a school like Auburn when it comes to investing in the program. In turn, a lot of fans are going to get pushed out of the comfort they’ve always had with FSU. Like, imagine being a Michigan fan and thinking you should have 50 yard line seats for time immemorial because you paid $500 for the year? Yet, FSU fans are like that.

didn’t they piss off some of the $$ people because of the renovations and then losing their seats or some shyt like that? Think I heard James Coleman mention it on his show once. But yea, the entry level is low cause I was sitting on the 40 and paying my little $1k booster fee and my tix were like $300 iirc. Same thing is happening at KU. I paid $250 for my tix on the 20 and zero booster membership. They won’t even let you think you can sit between the 40s if you’re not a WEF trustee. And the Phog? Forget about it. $50k donation up front just for aight seats at Allen Fieldhouse. And despite all that, they’ve started renovations on the football stadium but don’t have all the $$. FSU better pray they don’t follow this same trajectory. Alums gotta start kicking in. UGA has more boosters that give $250k annually than FSU has $1MM donors and I think they triple that number.

Norvell stealing money, man.

There’s like 5 coaches on this staff that don’t do shyt. We need a real OC too. Mike’s offense is ass.

Some of these guys are just not FSU caliber players. I’ve never seen a FSU WR look as bad as 21 did trying to track that pass… wide ass open. Breh looked like an extra in The Replacements. shyt is embarrassing.

This ain’t Memphis Mike!!!!

Kam Davis needs to lose 10/15 pounds. He’s built like a power back now, but has no power. He breaks no tackles, no burst, just straight struggle cuts. At a lighter weight, he’ll have more giddy up and burst. This powerback shyt is not going to work for him.

He needs to make the right hires that goes without saying. But also they need to pay the right players. That’s the difficult part smh.
