Can Capela shoot 3s? Somebody needs their floor spaced
Do they need 5 perimeter threats on the floor at all times? That’s not traditionally the responsibility of the 5. They need that position to be defensive oriented.

they already usually have 4 shooters on the floor.

That 5 out shyt for the birds.

Lakers desperately need a counter to Minnesota eating up all the offensive boards.

I know LeBron had 5 stocks but his free safety defense was terrible. They got multiple wide-open 3s from him trying to cover two players and not closing out.

We got our asses handed to us and maybe this is a bit of a reality check too. A lot of people assumed because Luka dominated the T-Wolves last postseason that Minnesota was going to be a cakewalk, considering he's now playing with Bron and arguably a better team in general than last season's Mavs.

Sure, Minnesota may not be better than us, but at the same, they're very good when they want to be and last night was an example of that, and it's the same thing that sorta caught the Nuggets off guard last postseason.

Obviously, they hit a franchise playoff record 21 3s, but still, we had chances to win the game before it got out of hand; hopefully, for game 2, we tightened up on the perimeter and came out more focused; we seemed a bit sloppy, maybe from having that long week off.

Also, Vincent, DFS, Goodwin, Dalton, and Hayes, have gotta play better and attempt more shots. Gabe played 25 minutes and only took 3 shots, Finley-Smith played 33 mins and shot 1-5, Hayes playing 8 mins is too little.

I understand that come playoff time, the rotation changes a bit, but JJ gotta figure out a better way to utilize the team the same way he did during the regular season, too many guys were on the court playing big minutes but barely amounted to more than 15 shot attempts. It's hard to win when your supporting cast either isn't getting enough playing time or shooting the ball too little.

They could have managed if it were the Rockets or Warriors but the Wolves are one of the only teams able to exploit the lack of size.

Too big and athletic for this team to handle. Randle is gonna have the best series of his career.
How? Rockets are top 3 in boards because of Adams and Alperen

I don’t think this lakers teams is better than last year’s Dallas squad if both are fully healthy. Dallas have better role players and more importantly that team was built around Luka, to his strengths and weaknesses. They had a really great frontcourt and Derek Jones had a great season for his standards.

Not sure why but Kyrie was a better Robin to Luka than Lebron is so far. Sometimes I think Lebron has an issue handing over the keys to Luka. It be times where Luka passes out and reposts for the ball again and Lebron swings the ball the other way or does his own thing.

Becaue the last time they played and beat Houston, they took control of the game once they subbed Hayes out and went small. Houston usually punishes teams for goin small but for whatever reason DFS went nuclear from 3 along with that Gabe dude from the Heat. DFS. Shot over 50% from 3. They beat the strategy but in a Seven games series, I don’t think DFS will shoot like that.

Amen clamped Luka that game and Lebron looked like a 40 year old basketball player.

McDaniels will never shoot 11 for 13 ever again in his career.. chill.
Him and Naz essentially won the game for MN

This was that classic “role player wins you a playoff game” for MN. LA always seems to come out flat after an extended break, I really don’t know why.

Obviously a long series, but remember LA lost both Game 1’s to Houston and the Blazers in 2020. Different circumstances, and I believe MN is better, but we’ve seen this happen and Lakers bounce back heavily.

Hopefully that happens here

Only way for us to offset our clear roster weakness …is for both lebron and Luka to go nuclear. Our big man rotation doesn’t cut it :ld:

Lebron and Luka should not have to go nuclear for the team to give effort on defense and rebounding.

That has been the problem all season, even when AD was on the team. Ball watching, late rotations, and too many double teams.
