No excuses for Luka this game. He can't be playing like this with the playoffs on the horizon.
If you look at just the way Luka moves now compared to 2021 it’s literally night and day

He’s a slow plodding player right now, and if his jumpshot isn’t falling he has issues

In the long run, he'll be fine, but that still doesn't mean anything as of right now. He needs to get his shyt straight.

AD just had a four-game stretch where he scored 14 ppg on 38% shooting, whereas Luka just averaged 30 ppg for the entirety of March, so it's all about keeping perspective.

It is, and I believe he’ll eventually be fine but you can see why Nico and the Mavs had issues with him

No, I don't.

Not when they trade for an older, more injury-prone player, who has never gone anything of note as the star of a team, whereas Luka just took them to the Finals.

Nah I didn’t say the trade was valid or anything, but you can see why they had issues with his conditioning and overall progress body wise

This is his prime and he looks terribly out of shape. Can’t imagine what he’s gonna look like in 3-5 years if he doesn’t show actual progress with his nutrition and body maintenance

We gave up a good amount of defense with Christie/AD for Luka to be playing like shyt. I expect 35ppg from him to make up for that.

If Austin is really a 20ppg player they would have been better off keeping AD in the short term.

But for the long run you do the trade every time.

I completely agree, especially with AD aging. I just hope Pelinka make some moves in the summer at least, and Luka becomes consistent again.

Again, no, I don't.

He has a ton of pro-mileage on his body because he started younger than anyone else. The workload that his body has had to deal with over the years has taken its toll on him. He played more minutes than any player last season, arguably with a greater offensive workload than anyone other than Jokic, taking his team to the Finals. You don't have issues with conditioning if you can do something like that.

His issue is more to the contrary. He needs to have a proper offseason. And he needs to learn that he doesn't need to be up all in the videos of the offense.

After his Finals run last season he went on and played Olympic qualifiers. He's done that nearly every season, where he'll play international hoops in the NBA offseason. Marcus Morris said he's only one of a very few players he's played alongside that will play through any injury, if it means he can get out on the floor.

That's his issue.

He doesn't let his body recover, and then he can't get back to an optimal condition because he's constantly fighting against his body to reset.

That's what the Lakers need to work out in the offseason, so they can get the most out of him going forward.

we got the dumbest fanbase in the world, i'm 100% convinced.

we got our culos whooped every year by the exact same team and yall talking about anthony davis

:mindblown:

u think the nuggets are more scared of AD or Luka :laff:

either way this was a deal for the future more than anything. but a certain stanbase thinks the world revolves around their guy

AD besides a center beat the Nuggets.

Obviously the consistent version of Luka is scarier but we have not seen that version of him.
