I’m convinced that NBA front offices and organizations are like those old kingdoms and empires that rot front the inside out due to incest, stupidity, and nepotism.
These NBA players legit have like eighth grade level educations since most of them stopped having to actually go to classes in high school. Have solid careers and are super plugged in where they parley those connects into high level front office gigs cause “they know ball” and have been around the game for so long.
They get turned into GMs and execs and get absolutely fleeced by highly educated, highly trained outsiders who actually had to study, learn, and grind to make it. This is the only explanation for this type of trade. Each year, there are so many moves I see GMs make that make me believe deeply in my heart that there are people I know in life and on the Coli, who would be hundreds of times more success than current GMs if given the opportunity
