Bron is another year older, Dlo is further checked out, Vanderbilt is injured (whose only real value is defense), Reaves has been out over the last two games (which coincided with their biggest defeats), Rui's effort is inconsistent, Gabe doesn't even look like he likes hooping anymore etc.
No coach is going to miraciously make this roster into a team that plays with consistent defensive effort.
So no, I'm not wrong.
I'll also add to this - the Lakers don't have that fake ass FT disparity in their favor anymore and it's got them crashing back down to Earth, so naturally, they can't use that as a springboard to play defense like they did in the past.
