I posted a link two days with the annoucement of free wifi calling coming to Lumia users on May 20th if you bought one from HSN or Walmart. And on May 22nd if you buy it at the T-mobile store. An upset andriod user then said how stupid I was and that it wasn't free wifi exactly. It would use my data over wifi.
T-mobile didn't say that, but it did sound plausible if
If I was :umad:
So today T-mobile sends me a link to there support page and low and behold I see this
BILLING

There is no additional monthly charge to use the Wi-Fi calling feature on your handset. Wifi calling uses monthly plan minutes for the following:
  • Calls made from the US to international numbers (subject to international rates)
  • Calls made from the outside the US to US numbers (not charged roaming)
  • Calls made from outside the US to international numbers (subject to internaional rates, but not charged roaming)
Note: You must disable Data Roaming when traveling internationally to aviod incurring data roaming charges.

That $30 plan is ONLY for new activations so make up your collective minds before making the plunge :win:

wifi calling uses your minutes not your data
Why would you run into this thread to say that when its posted right in front of your eyes how they charge you. At least remotely backup your statement instead of blindly crying about how we winning over here. As you can see, there is no mention of them charging you for calls in the US. Its even underlined "Wifi calling uses monthly plan minutes for the following:" You can check it yourself here at support.t-mobile.com/docs/doc-1680 but you have to be signed in to view it. Eat Stan Jones let it stick to your ribs :dj2:
