Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach appeared on the most recent edition of BoxingScene Radio to talk to us about his large stable of fighters' upcoming fights.

Former three-division champion Miguel Cotto is the latest edition to Roach's stable. Cotto faces Delvin Rodriguez on October 5th in an HBO televised main event that takes place in Orlando, Florida. Roach said that Rodriguez will make for a tough fight but that Cotto will be prepared and come out with the victory. "This is is first time training in LA. He rented a house here in Los Angeles. He is working his butt off. He is coming along very well. I look forward to his fight. Delvin Rodriguez is an awkward fighter but Cotto will be ready for him" Roach explained.

Roach said that Cotto has been working very hard and is in great shape for the fight. He also said that the Puerto Rican fighter has done everything that he has asked of him. "We just work our asses off. I give him 10-12 rounds on the mitts. One thing I learned about Miguel is he is a workaholic. He gets up at 5 am to do his strength and conditioning. He works from 5 am to 8 am in the morning then he goes homes and eats a little bit and sleeps then he goes back to the gym at 2 pm and we do our boxing work" Roach told us on BoxingScene Radio. The Hollywood, Calif. based trainer also revealed that Cotto is almost on weight and said that while there has been talk of Cotto moving up to 160 pounds, he could see Cotto possibly going back down to the welterweight division. :ohhh:

"He said this is the best training camp he has ever had. He is only two pounds over and we are still over three weeks out. I am thinking that he is better off at 47 than 60. He is only over by 2 pounds now and we aren't even trying to make weight. We will discuss it after this fight because we have to take care of Delvin Rodriguez first " Roach stated.

Danny Garcia's gonna be the boxing version of Randy Orton aka "The Legend Killer":ohlawd:

#BandCamp
That would be a great PPV match in the Barclays, Garcia is all wrong for Cotto though.......

As far as the legend killer thing I'll tell you what Floyd better handle him soon, Garcia grows by leaps and bounds every fight, thats not the type of fighter you want to face later in your career.......................

I'd still like to see Garcia at 147 before thinking he can beat the breaks off Cotto. Beating Matthysse is hella impressive, but Cotto is a completely different animal, and even at Barcley's that PR crowd gonna be there for Cotto, but being Cotto is the draw I would think they'd go for Madison Square Garden.

Floyd at 39 years old will beat the best Danny. I can see Danny beating the Maidanas, perhaps even the Broners of the world, but Floyd (unless he shrivels up like a prune) will beat Danny with rather ease.

GBP don't fukk wit MSG only Barclay's

Of course Swift would need a tune-up at 147 first...That nikka Cotto gasses way to much to fukk with Swift especially since Garcia goes to the body a lot N the way Cotto face gets busted up N swole well be reading bout another broken eye socket after the fight:shaq:

Garcia has real "rare" power not manufactured beating on people 30 pounds smaller power like Canelo

If he faces Floyd he has a chance of countering and catching Floyd mid combo, when is the last time Floyd faced a counter puncher let alone a elite one, although I feel he mops the floor with Garcia as of now, the sooner the better

I'd like to see this for Garcia next:

Matthysse 2
Loser of Alexander vs Khan (maybe his 1st fight at 147)
Winner of Maidana vs Broner
Juan Manuel Marquez (I think Marquez' fight with Bradley is his last fight with TR)
Cotto (if he can make 147 and or doesn't fight Canelo)
Floyd (Fall '14)

Garcia vs Cotto

Swift can ko another legend in BK:smugbiden:

#swiftset:steviej:

i never really thought about that shyt :wow:

the ricans would go crazy for that matchup.

but if cotto did go back to 147, i can see him and marquez being made instantly by top rank. i think cotto is in a good position, being that he can work with hbo/tr and showtime/gbp.

Danny doesnt really rep his Rican side though

and why are people acting like he's the future? what did you guys see in the last 2 fights that I didnt?

he fought a boxer with one eye and it still went to decision

and Zab came back and almost beat him

I do wish him the best though, he's not only Rican, even if he doesnt rep it, but he's from my 'hood
