Somebody been saying this every year for the last few decades now. Waiting for a “b..b...b...but this time it can actually be true :flabbynsick:“ comment

Drake was the last legit rap star and he came out over a decade ago

people forget how big rap use to be, it's at it's lowest point ever revenue wise, and influence on the culture

first generation where white rappers can imitate the music black rappers are doing, like jark harlow, and Post Malone too the mumble rappers shyt and went to the room with it

you live in a fantasy world, can't none of these new rappers sell out an arena, NONE OF THEM

It’s over

No Kenny, Drake or Cole walking through that door. By 2014-2015 ish the perfect formula was in place (360 deals) and that’s why you saw such an influx of rappers come out in this era but that was the last push until about 2019-2020, right to when the pandemic hit.

nikkas still gonna get signed and music will be released but the level of quality will be tremendously lowered and we won’t see groundbreaking albums like we did in the 2000s and 2010s and you can blame the labels and streaming platforms for that.

It’s plenty of rappers “rapping” It’s a whole fukking sub genre of rappers rippity rapping over drumless beats and shyt, and it’s thriving. 2 of the biggest artist in the game, Kendrick and Cole are known as lyricist. Even Gibbs himself has been praised with critical acclaim and carved a lane for himself as a lyrical rapper with a hipster ass fan base that actually believes he some gangsta ass nikka.

In five years we still gonna have rap and nikkas never stopped “rapping” Rappers are “rapping” at this very moment. Plenty of them. They have not went anywhere. Is a heavy emphasis placed on lyricism in general? No. Does that mean that the world about to end and nobody raps anymore? No
