Today, G.I.’s own Freddie Gibbs announced the launch of his new label ESGN, which will be distributed through Empire Distribution. The first release from the label will be his Baby Face Killa project, which is due out on September 25. The project will be available for free download on the 25th, but if you want the project tagless and sans DJ, you will have to cop on iTunes, which will also feature other unreleased material. BFK will be hosted by DJ Drama.
Gibbs will no doubt push his own projects through ESGN, but also material from his Str8 Slammin’ crew. Gibbs quipped: ”I decided to partner up with EMPIRE Distribution because I like the way they rock. They make things simple and I like keeping things simple. They allow me to do what I gotta do and help me expand my reach through their various relationships,”
In the past, Empire Distribution has released albums from Snoop Dogg, Too $hort, Kendrick Lamar, Fat Joe, Tego Calderòn, Slum Village and N.O.R.E. Looking forward to BFK.
