Is it just me or I can't find the Jamarcus smiley?
Damn I only caught a little bit of it towards the end but just that was fire.
Definitely have to watch from the beginning.
well saidThat was a good interview with Jamarcus. It had feels of when Kwame Brown first started speaking in the sense of for years so many people said so many things about him and he finally spoke and got shyt off his chest. It could've been a three hour interview.
He says he's not bothered by what was said about him over the years but you can also see he easily is and the interviewers didn't poke the bear per say. They just let him talk.
The only pushback I will give Jamarcus which Channing told him when you get drafted #1, you are NOT going to the most ideal situation and I wish he understood that then. He didn't have a big homie on the team either to hold him accountable either which also hurt him.
College football is very structured, especially in a program like LSU under Saban/Miles. I don't think its that deep what happened to him.
He was sheltered/protected in college, he clearly had a substance abuse problem with the drank and being a starting black QB. That's a three headed monster and once that "lazy" "doesn't work hard" mantra gets attached to you, you can't escape it and the league will throw you away and that's what happened.
I'm about halfway through the Jamarcus interview, and it sounds like the biggest reasons he failed in the league were because he was immature as in he needed guidance from veterans/coaches coming into the league & he didn't get it from anyone, the Raiders weren't all in on him to begin with, he was in a bad situation, and he got lazy/complacent. It really blows my mind how teams/coaches try to make players fit into their system as opposed to adjusting to fit the key players skill set. It seems like the Raiders were expecting a ready made QB to step in, but everyone in the world at the time knew Jamarcus was a project. Bad circumstances.
