One thing you dont hear a lot from Beas in that interview is accountability. No doubt he was dealt some bad cards but his career wasn't just a series of bad things happening with him having no control over the circumstances. David Fizdale told the story once they basically had to drag him out of bed to get him to come to a pre-draft workout, by the time he got there Westbrook had already been there for 2 hours in a full sweat and went hard for another hour after.
Yup. I didn't really hear anything from him that was unique to jut him... A LOT of people and athletes have overcome worse circumstances. Yes people are shytty and will use you for your talents, connections and money but at some point you have to look in the mirror and take accountability.
Even when the pivot crew were offering him help he wouldn't outright accept it. He just replied with a "yea but..." about how people burned him in the past. Dude needs to get some professional help before anything.
I think this was a good interview. His ego definitely shows in it (when talking about being the face of ESPN and the best at what he does), but he’s technically not wrong.SAS ego is ridiculous. I still don't get ehy he's so popular.
I like when they keep it to interviewing athletes.
What is it that he does that he's the best at?I think this was a good interview. His ego definitely shows in it (when talking about being the face of ESPN and the best at what he does), but he’s technically not wrong.
He does drive ratings. If anyone could be plugged in there and generate interest they would’ve found someone cheaper. They kept him and let Max go because like him or not he equals ratings. What is it that he does that he's the best at?
His ratings are what they are by default. ESPN is still a huge platform. I say Skip Bayless is better than SAS. He's just on FS1. And I hate them both btw.
