But then you could just install XBMC to it and launch inside the OS the machine is running.
If you have full access to a computer and/or the internet I don't understand why you need to go the extra step of installing XBMC to a bootable USB stick?
Not hatin' but....it's not really that amazing of a discovery. You can get one of those for like 15 bucks on Amazon. Just do what you would normally do with it.
there are bootable versions of xbmc called xbmcBuntu it will run of an USB there is an AMD version And an INTEL/nvidia version
But if your job's IT department is any decent you shouldn't be able to run the bootable usb on the computer. unless you can get into the boot menu of said computer.
