DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. — A former "Law & Order" director was sentenced to probation Tuesday after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.

Jason "Jace" Alexander, 52, of Dobbs Ferry received 10 years of probation. He pleaded guilty on Jan. 19 to promoting a sexual performance on a child and possessing child pornography.

Last year an investigator from the Westchester County District Attorney's Office downloaded child pornography from an IP address that was assigned to Alexander's home.

Detectives removed computers and hard drives from the home containing digital files of children under 16 engaged in child pornography.

The father of three must also register as a sex offender with the New York State Sex Offender Registry.

Alexander directed a number of TV shows including 32 episodes of "Law & Order" and 19 episodes of "Rescue Me."
