I think he was a writer so he got a performance few upfront for whatever he did. Work for hir rarely get out rights. But he just wants a million randomly. This is the shyt that people defend when they calling Puff a thief. Ridiculous shyt

Only gullible people fall for Diddy tricks. He's been a snake his entire career. He's nice to people only if it benefits him. That publishing ain't worth a shyt in 2023. Nobody's gonna use those Bad Boy tracks from 25 years ago. Rap is not a Rock where old artists are eating good off their old tracks. In rap the fans are ignorant towards old artists, most of them care what's new unless you're an all time great artist from the past.

Edit: even Mark Curry said it. What movie or video game is desperate to throw in them old bad boy songs from Shyne, G Dep, etc.

Said this in the Diddy thread. Its sad that this had to be said to a bunch of people that are obtuse to how Puffy rolls. In the public eye, he seems like a saint with this action, but the realization is the fact that unless Carl Thomas "I Wish" gets played on a Summer's Eve commercial, WTF you going to do with a bunch of scribble scrabble that's dead to AI and streaming services that dikk the hell out of the artists?

You could say that about a lot of songs from back in the day that you never thought would gain traction on social media

Exceptions vs rules. Most of the songs that pop up on social were legendary back in their day, not just “hot for the moment.” Its like writers and actors striking now cause streaming has changes how they get paid. That “owning your publishing “ shyt only works if you are one of the biggest out. The rest of them folks would starve.

And most are wrong. Whether business or the arts, most people have a shelf life. You hot for a minute and then there are dozens to replace you. If a business offers to buy me out for 100m, that doesnt mean I was destined to pull 100m. That mean Unilever whatever was gonna take my brand, pimp it with the resources they have, and try to see returns I never will alone. Good business doesnt care about pro blackness or “putting people on.” Sometimes the best idea is to sell shyt and start something new while banking proceeds, or go home and be a family man.
