Forge isn't smarter than Reed but he could potentially outperform Reed if put to the test.

Forge's ability isn't super intelligence, but he can perceive and create ways for machinery and devices to work.

What's the difference between that and intelligence. :gucci:

Forge basically makes Reed's degrees useless because he doesn't even have to understand the whys and hows behind something in order to create it. He's built ridiculously complex things like the mutant nullifier and been unable to explain exactly how it worked. He's broken other things he's built down & understood it through reverse engineering.

Whereas Reed's insane mental acuity and the elasticity of his brain cells allows him to fully understand how something works sometimes at a glance & then he builds it accordingly. Still, he has to understand it before he can create it & he follows a logical process.

They're similar in results but completely different in process. If you needed to create a massive weapon on the spot, you'd grab Forge. If you need blueprints for that same weapon to mass produce on the spot, you're going to want Reed.

It all depends on the situation.

they wrote him in such an intricate way that makes him more of a savant
Forge can look at something and build it exactly how he saw it but doesn't know how he did it. he just knows how to make an exact replica

Reed can explain The Who’s, what’s and why’s behind things, Forge really can’t all the time. Functionally, there isn’t a huge difference but Reed can apply his craft on biology, chemistry, physics, etc whereas Forge mainly specializes in machinery and engineering. Performance wise, Forge hasn’t build something Tony Stark couldn’t also build but he just has a different methodology towards getting to the end result.

it’s like education vs experience. Reed or Stark could tell you and explain to you how to do something, Forge would just have to show you.

They wouldn’t even bother chasing other mutants
Forge would be locked up in some FBI bunker somewhere

You notice, he usually is :russ:

Whether its with Xavier and his plans or with the government with X-Factor, Forge is usually the guy they have underground building whatever kind of machine they have in mind. Its why the character gets so underrated.
