Similar PS5 SSD Hard drive prices

Sony took a different approach. Instead of designing for a custom external SSD, Sony opted to include an SSD-ready internal drive bay. There are two problems with this. The first is there currently are no SSDs to go in the bay. SSDs have to work with the PS5’s advanced technology and those SSDs don’t exist yet. Mark Cerny, the PS5s lead system architect, cautioned that once these SSDs are built, they have to be vetted by Sony to make sure they fit in the bay that’s provided and work with the PS5’s custom tech. That’s going to take time. Cerny expressed hope this problem will be solved before the PS5 launches, but he counseled patience because it might not be.

The second problem is Sony decided on an internal rather than an external drive. People with experience working inside a computer know that adding a drive when there’s an empty bay is usually a simple process. However, there are many more people who don’t have this experience and who are very reluctant to break open a console and start monkeying around with what’s inside.

Microsoft partnered with Seagate to create an external 1TB NVMe SSD that’s custom designed to work with the Series X. It looks like an old-school memory card. Installing the SSD is as simple as plugging it into the slot designed for it in the back of the Series X. There’s no word yet on whether larger capacity versions will be available or how much it will cost. It will probably be expensive, but it provides an easy option to increase SSD storage by as much as you can afford.

The Xbox Series X Has A Good Solution When Its SSD Gets Full, The PS5 Doesn’t

Forbes must own a lot of MS stock...they stay publishing articles dissing PS5 over X.

Lol at “it’s difficult to add a hard drive”. Uhh...no...we’ve been doing it just fine on the PS4 while shytting on Xbox sales wise...
:snooze:
When Sony stans get negative info then the one who published the story is the bad guy? Uncharted 3 reviews all over again :laff: but here's the reality...

Analyst Predicts A Clear Winner Between PS5 And Xbox Series X
Since Pong 4K will be running at 4k2880 on the XSX, their hard drive is more than sufficient for the gluttony of indie titles MS making. :wow:
I don't get why they even went hard on the cpu/gpu when all they needed to do was speed up the ssd. I know that isn't a popular way to next gen but I'm just glad somebody figured it out.

PS5: Sonys xbox one x equivalent :francis:

They doing a great job of that on their own

I don't see what the difference really is, when it sounds like both are using some kind of custom SSD. in other words, you probably won't be able to use 'off the shelf' PC NVMe SSD's

That and the cost due to the Sony extraordinary speed. People will be spending a fortune for little storage.

SSD prices keep coming down. they'll probably be expensive at launch, but they should come down after that. it also depends if there will be third party options for either console.
