North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
And even though I shytted on Wonder Woman, I kinda feel bad, they put all that effort into a product and basically gave it away by giving up on the traditional 3700 - 4000 screen release.

Studios have basically had a monopoly on how content gets delivered by way of movie theaters. Part of the experience is sharing audience reaction, and the size/sound of the picture. But that appears to be overrated to many, and people went, not because they wanted to but because they had to.

the ether
I honestly rarely watched movies in the theater even before Covid. When I was a teenager it was the thing to do but in my 20s I probably only saw 2-3 theater movies a year and after that maybe not even 1 a year.

Still, there are occasional event movies that make the theater worth it. I'm going to be pissed off if I don't get the chance to see Dune on the big screen.

I go see every superhero movie on the big screen and big releases too. I like the movie experience

It's great for dates with your woman, nice wholesome fun if you got children and its enjoyable to me.

I was going to the movies probably once or even twice a month when there was something good out.

Same. When they open back up I'll go back, I ain't bougie like some other nikkas.

Home theater don't hit the same. :manny:

75' TV and still miss the fukk out of a movie theater.

Usually whenever you miss something that is gone, you tend to think about only the good things. I'm thinking of the bad things too when it came to theaters and still would take the experience over home.

That's my overpriced popcorn and drinks:to:

nikkas lighting up the theater cause they wanna surf the phone with max brightness :wow:

Sacrificing my bladder to catch that one important scene. :whew:

Def gonna appreciate the little things even more once things get going again. I miss walking into a packed theater before an MCU joint.

If studios adopt the direct streaming model, the price of services like Netflix will go up most definitely. A movie studios will charge other platforms more for the movies, and those price increases will be passed along to, guess who?

I can also see steaming services come up with contracts. So if you want netflix, you have to be locked into a 2 year contract.

Contrary to popular belief, the streaming industry, theater industry and movie studios balance each other out. Studios value box office revenue, and are willing to spend more to make a quality product. After theaters have their time with the movie, studios can then loan them to streaming platforms for a low price, which enable platforms like Hulu to charge low rates. to consumers.
