I'm an EMT now and studying to become a Paramedic, it's good money in this field and not a lot of brothers think about it. EMT-Basic can be obtained in six months at any community college. You come out of that making about 30k. After a year or two of working EMT, you can go to paramedic school which takes around 1-1.5 years. Paramedics make between 50-70k. That's good money for not having to have a masters.

Just wanted to post this because it seems like a lot of breh's forget that this is a career option. We are way under represented in this field.

If you ever wanted to go to med school or healthcare, you'd have an excellent advantage over the rest of the pool due to your A1 experience. However, i could never do that job. :salute: the people that do. The crazy shyt EMTs see on the job :scusthov: I'm not bout that life at all.

Uh, that's really strange. Are they talking about the salary range ceiling for an EMT supervisor? Because that would be more believable.

Ceilings of paramedics with 5 or more years experience. Starting income for paramedics is around the 30-40k range states like Washington, NY, and California are the highest paying states. manny: I'm not making this up or trying to prove any thing, my senior paramedic makes around 60 grand.

Here's a few links I googled just now

Best Paying Cities for Paramedics

The highest paid in the paramedic profession work in the metropolitan areas of Tacoma, Wash., Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Anchorage, Alaska. The San Francisco area also pays well, as does the city of Portsmouth, N.H..

Tacoma, Wash.

Salary: $65,880

The annual median wage of a paramedic working in Tacoma, Wash. is $65,880, which is $35,520 more than the average pay in the profession.

San Francisco

Salary: $50,950

The annual median wage of a paramedic working in San Francisco is $50,950, which is $20,590 more than the average pay in the profession

Anchorage, Alaska

Salary: $52,310

The annual median wage of a paramedic working in Anchorage, Alaska is $52,310, which is $21,950 more than the average pay in the profession.

Those are median salaries, so some people make less, some more. Talking about paramedics and not emt's.

Ok. That makes more sense. But, cost of living is higher in those areas, so you'll be eating ramen noodles and living out of a car.
