EDIT:I recently bought cosmogramma used for like 6 bucks. Ripped it into my computer last night, this thread gon remind me to bump that later
In my opinion, far and away my favorite work of his, just leaps and bounds better than
1983 and
Los Angeles, and those were pretty damn good. I will warn you that it might take some time to get into, as the album (especially the first half) is much more dense and textured, and shifts you around more than FlyLo's other releases combined. However, I just adored it and can honestly say that
Cosmogramma is one of my favorite albums of all time (seriously).
As a matter of fact, the whole Brainfeeder camp puts out great stuff. I'm waiting on The Gaslamp Killer's solo to drop and I still need to make time to listen to Thundercat's
The Golden Age of Apocalypse, but you really can't go wrong with a Brainfeeder record.
Edit: Excellent short film. Might write on it as soon as I get over this flu. I'll reserve my judgment on the music until the album comes out in its properly sequenced and mastered form (sequencing and the way it was used is a big part of why I loved
Cosmogramma so much), but it sounded pretty good too. Still feverishly anticipating this.
Also, to tide you over, check the profile for a special little something from Flying Lotus released in July.
