I revisited this recently when all the UPN shows got put on Netflix, and it’s held up pretty well I must say.

Had such a crush on Kyla Pratt as a kid haha.

5 seasons, had similar ratings to Moesha and had a spin off:yeshrug:

It was a hit back then

shyt wild cause it reminds me of how much black normalcy we used to have on TV Show's back in the day. Black people of all age ranges just doing normal family shyt and the shows were genuinely funny for the most part:ehh:

The shyt we have now in comparison:scust:

Let's be real here, it benefitted from being on UPN. Shows that came on that network seemed to be locked in for multiple seasons regardless, it was like they were giving out black tv show stimuluses
I didn't hate it, but can anyone really even mention one classic episode? One thing that did urk me was it was set in Baltimore, but there was NOTHING Baltimore about it. I've yet to meet a black Bmore person that lived in a loft

I agree about the loft shyt cause:mjlol:

But it was a black show on a predominantly black station at the time. Very few black shows would have survived on other networks besides Fox, UPN, and the WB back in the day. There's a reason the Hughley's got cancelled on ABC.

In terms of classic episodes off the top of my head there's the Halloween episode where Flex and Duane Martin's character were dressed up like MJ, there's the episode where Arnez saves the girl from getting raped which is how his character went from kind of a loser to the heartthrob shyt, and then probably the Finale when they randomly had Kyla Pratt lose her virginity to Ray J. :pachaha:

I'm not saying the show was amazing but it was cool for what it was lol
