Amir Khan turned down a fight with Manny Pacquiao earlier this year, according to Bob Arum, one of boxing's foremost promoters.

Khan is pursuing some of the biggest match-ups in the world in 2015 if he can defeat Devon Alexander in a WBC silver welterweight title fight in Las Vegas this weekend, but Arum has claimed he rejected the chance to take on Pacquiao in talks held after the Filipino had defeated Timothy Bradley in April.

Arum told Telegraph Sport: "After Pacquiao's second fight with Timothy Bradley [in April], I tried to see if Khan was interested in fighting Manny and if it was legally possible. The first guy I asked was Nick Khan, who is the agent of Freddie Roach and a friend of mine.

"He came back and said they (Khan's advisers) gave him the runaround. We were told: 'No way'. They have contractual commitments to others, which would prevent that fight from happening.' So I dropped it."

I believe this all part of Al Satan's agenda.. allowing his fighters like Swift, Khan, Maidana, etc to not fight Pacquiao because those fights would obviously generate a large amount of ppv buys which would give Pac enough leverage in negotiations with Floyd to ask for a 50/50.. this snake tactic leaves Pac to fight unknown fighters like Algieri and Vargas, which obviously would lead to much lower ppv numbers..

Even though I half way agree with you (in regards to Al Haymon's plan as ), Manny Pacquiao has been getting called out for about 2-3 years now by Adrien Broner....and we ALL know that fight would generate more PPV buys than Rios/Algieri combined. However, you agreed with Arum on that Pacquiao shouldnt fight him, so yall lay in that bed together. No excuses, because AB wants the fight and would make it.

Hey man ppvs are nice, but we're not gonna whore ourselves out for them... Broner isn't even a champion breh at 140 or 147 and is ranked only one spot above Jessie Vargas.. He can call everybody except Swift all he wants...we straight :mjpls:

Not saying you are wrong but why couldnt he have fought Alexander, Canelo, Brook, Porter or Thurman. I think all are were better opponents than Algieri. Im not sure how the politics work for that though.

Stopped reading with an open mind at, "according to Bob Arum..."

The conspiracy theory sounds stupid. More excuses pile up, just shut up and make the fight happen.
:childplease: Man STFU..
Aint no conspiracy dumb nikka. Maidana has already admitted to turning down an offer and im sure Haymon was behind that since it interferes with his agenda.. Its not even about making excuses. People need to be made aware of Al Haymon and the type of moves he's making thats hurting boxing

Alexander-Haymon fighter
Canelo- Too big
Brook- injured
Porter- Haymon fighter
Thurman - Haymon fighter.

Haymon is the common denominator

Who?:lupe:

I dont think there's any Welterweights who wanna fight AB at 144-145. I think they would rather fight at their full weight limit.

Swift and AB are homies and have both already said the money has to be there for them to step in the ring against each other. Pacquiao needs to get his PPV buys, but he cant because he doesnt have any name brand fighters to face is basically what you saying in the OP.

Why not fight a 3x Champion, who's won 29 of his 30 fights (including 22 via KO), is known very well by the casuals.....and has been calling you out for 2+ years?:sas1:

Easy fight to make, so Im not impressed with the crying about opponents that are "available" for Floyd to fight when Pacquiao has AB staring him in the face:sas2:

Belts dont mean anything for Pac at this time though, because if it did, he would've faced Algieri for HIS belt:sas1:

Like you said....AB is STILL ranked above Jessie Vargas and Vargas is a Champion who's supposedly "worthy" of a shot with Pacquiao while AB isnt:sas2:
