thanks woadie..this is your first beat ever?
you're doing fine, just research every little thing you feel you want to do and youll have your style in no time
not bad still
you think you kanye west huh
so basically amplify the samples a lil bit?for real, first beat? not bad. it's been 15 years since my first track and my homeboy still makes fun of me for it.
Couple things, and this will come in time:
- you'll learn the importance of the mix. this track is very muddy, which means there are a lot of lower frequencies. The beat needs to brighten up. You do this by focusing on the higher frequencies (1k to 20k Hz).
- also, I'd maybe turn up the sample just a bit; the kick kind of drowns the samples, keys out.
again, I've been at this for over a decade and a half and am still learning new sh*t almost everyday. It's a process and with YouTube and forums, you have a lot of the info at your finger tips.
Best of luck and keep bangin' them tracks out.
cheers,
well, kind of. I was referring to the EQ, which is a frequency specific amplification. Read up on basic mixing techniques like EQ, compression, reverb. That should be a good intro.so basically amplify the samples a lil bit?
and thanks for the reply woadie..
thanksNice for your first beat homie
This can't be your first beat EVER...NO WAY...
It is TOO MUCH skill for a first beat...A beginner would not be able to make that transition from the original sample to the atmospheric loop you have...It is TOO DOPE to be done by a beginner...
And the way you end the beat is too much skill for a beginner...
You been making beats breh...Stop Lying...
It is too much skill for a beginner at sampling...I figured either (1) You are not telling the whole truth...or (2) You had a good teacher...It seems like you went to the right places for information...
this is literally my first beat..i used magix music maker and just looked up some tutorials for sampling for audacity..so serious..is it that good for a beginner?
my pops was listening to some old funk so i wanted to make that smooth ass shyt into a beat..It is too much skill for a beginner at sampling...I figured either (1) You are not telling the whole truth...or (2) You had a good teacher...It seems like you went to the right places for information...
Even so, You decide you want to make beats...You follow a couple of tutorials, and this is the first thing you come up with...It is pretty amazing...
The beat is COMPLETE as is...Better mixing will definitely make it sound better and more atmospheric pads to add to that trippy feel...
But the idea is SOLID...I can't believe a beginner was able to make the opening and ending transition s of the beat...
I wouldn't add a cowbell, but maybe you have a vision for it...my pops was listening to some old funk so i wanted to make that smooth ass shyt into a beat..
so for about 4 days i was snipping this shyt and finding some good miami subbass and distorted claps..
i honestly had no clue what i was doing with the samples until i looked up a couple tutorials on audacity, shyt came out pretty good
i plan on adding a 808 cow bell to it, just found out what that is today..
