I can see them making it more family friendly by embracing more of the "space western" aspect but that also means they will have to probably make Mal and them not be a bunch of crooks with hearts of gold who are still capable of being cold-blooded, Inara would have to be written out or at the very least not be a Companion anymore (the entire idea of hookers being an elevated position would have to be scrapped too).

But for some reason I'm thinking that family friendly in this instance is going to mean Disney making it into a teen show.

If they are doing this without Whedon then I hope than can get Tim Minear and/or Ben Edlund to be involved.

Yeah, I know there have been rumblings for about a year or so now but nothing has fully exploded on him yet.

But a Firefly without the OG cast and without Whedon's voice seems like it would be doomed for failure.
