Finn Balor reveals his Dream Wrestlemania match & Favorite match of all time

Super-talented NXT star Finn Balor has singled out John Cena as his dream Wrestlemania opponent.

Balor, 33, is currently plying his trade between the ropes of WWE’s highly-acclaimed developmental brand NXT and is considered one of the very finest talents in the world.

Speaking exclusively to MTV at the Performance Center in Florida, he reasoned that 15-time champ Cena had “proven over the last 10-14 years to be the absolute hardest worker in all of pro wrestling – and I want to be the guy standing opposite him.”

When MTV expressed surprised he didn’t select Daniel Bryan, Balor responded: “I’ve a lot of respect for Daniel Bryan.

“We’ve wrestled a couple of times on the indies before and we keep in touch.

“There’s a lot of dream matches, but I think John Cena would be at the top.”

Balor, who has frequently teamed with Hideo Itami in Florida, also picked a classic Wrestlemania bout as his favourite match of all time.

“[Wrestlemania 18], Hogan vs Rock,” he said.

“Just pure electricity in the air, two of the greatest of all time.

“What a story and what emotions… so Just off the charts.

“If I can try and recreate half the magic they created that night, I’ll be happy.”

I honestly thought he would choose Daniel Bryan. Because you know.. These indy guys try to stick together. After reading this interview, he doesn't really strike me as a guy who is just "uber-pure in ring talent". But more of a man that appreciates entertainment rather than pure wrestling.

A notable wrestler's favorite match is Rock/Hogan? Not Savage/Steamboat or Taker/HBK? Hmm. He just earned himself some more brownie points.

Real talk if Triple H is really behind him and his NXT group of Kliq Jr guys (Kenta, Devitt, Steen, Zayn, Neville) and he busts out that facepaint show every special event then he could be the prototype for the modern superstar to crossover. I know Vince still thinks the big musicle guys sell first and they do, but we've had boderline guys like Bret and CM (yes I know numbers didnt show it but they had mainstream awarness) and Daniel Bryan, so why not
