I was on youtube rewatching that D-Day opening scene from Saving Private Ryan, saw on the suggested videos top 10 most realistic war movies and a movie that caught my eye on the list at #4 was this mid 80s Soviet film called Come and See. Decided to give it a view and godamn brehs
Just brutal, fukked up but necessary cinema about a ruthless time in history where there was no regard for human life. The eastern front of World War 2 was savage than a bytch
Movies about a Belorusian child soldier fighting to survive against the Nazi invasion of the USSR. Film pulls no punches, the only war movie i could classify as a horror film as well tbh. Surrealist dark humor at it's best. My fav war film ive seen since Beasts of No Nation.
All you have to see to know how this film is going to go is to see this broken childs face
