VGLeaks reports that Square Enix is planning to rebrand Final Fantasy Versus XIII as Final Fantasy XV. In addition, the game is set to be exclusively released on PS4.
The PS4 exclusivity is reportedly linked to Sony co-developing the title with Square Enix and providing assistance with assets and other tasks. Square Enix also apparently halted the project before Sony came on board and then later changed the name to Final Fantasy XV when development resumed.
The game was first announced in 2006 as a companion project to Final Fantasy XIII. The first trailer for the game was previously released in 2011 and announcements on the title had been sporadic. Square Enix later admitted the title had yet to enter production.
The game will also reportedly feature open world gameplay and be bigger than Skyrim.
Guess KH3 Will Follow Shortly After
