Streep’s career trajectory seems to be going the route that Katharine’s went where she’s aging very gracefully and the longevity is serious. She’s like the most nominated actress ever. But it’s worth noting that a lot of these are supporting roles. The Hepburn girls and Davis were leading ladies for most of their careers, if not all.
The TRUE #1 is probably Katharine. I don’t know if I ever see Streep ever eclipsing her as a whole. She’ll probably go down as #2 or #3.
